Lake Bunyonyi (“Place of many little birds”) is in south-western Uganda between Kisoro and Kabale. It is famous for its “Punishment Island and Sharp’s Island”.
It also has various species of water birds, otters, cray fish, shrimp. What makes the areas surrounding the lake awesome is the serenity or ambience you get once you are there. It is like this other worldly place, away from the chaos of cities – together with nature. And I must say that the water is not polluted as there are not factories or industries around the area. It is a calm pace to spend the weekend while you listen to birds singing and watch the calm waters.
